Chapter 1179: Ye Lingfeng Poisoned
Zhouzhou felt all the blood rush to her head, making her dizzy with anger.
She fixed her glare on them, clutching a talisman. With a slight movement of her wrist, she hurled it towards one of the men who was about to fire.
The man had already placed his finger on the trigger, ready to pull, but suddenly felt a force push his arm, causing the barrel to swing toward his companion instead.
Before he could react, his finger had already pressed the trigger.
Bang!
The companion fell to the ground, his smile abruptly disappearing, his face filled with disbelief as he stared at the man who had just killed him.
The shooter froze as well, hastily explaining, "It wasn't me! Really, it wasn't me! Someone pushed my arm!"
His comrades, standing nearby, were furious. "What do you mean by that? You're saying I pushed you?"
"No!" The shooter was sweating with anxiety, completely confused by the situation.
Before he could explain further, someone shouted angrily and shot him in the forehead.
The man had been a subordinate to the one who just died, and now that his boss had been killed, he couldn't hold back his anger.
In the blink of an eye, a chaotic fight broke out between the two groups.
Meanwhile, those caught in the middle had already used the opportunity to flee, and no one paid attention to them.
As soon as they had all left, Zhouzhou felt a slight sense of relief.
However, she knew that unless these demons were completely dealt with, they would never escape—they would be caught and brought back again.
Once these people were eliminated, only then would they truly be able to survive.
She couldn't wait any longer; she had to act quickly.
With that thought in mind, Zhouzhou turned and floated towards the room.
When she entered and saw her expression wasn't very good, Ye Lingfeng didn't ask any questions. He simply patted her shoulder.
He could guess why she was upset—she must have seen some dirty things.
He had seen some of them himself earlier, and they were so filthy that he too felt they should never have been allowed to live another second.
A quarter of an hour later, the others slowly returned. Together, they had pieced together the parts of the map they had found and had completed a full map.
"When do we move?" Chen Tuo asked.

Ye Lingfeng replied, "I just checked on Eddie's progress. He's almost done. He should be finished by tomorrow, so we'll act tonight."
"Alright." Zhouzhou had no objections.
In fact, she couldn't hold back any longer.
In the middle of the night, when the guards were the most relaxed, they began to move.
They were all vicious criminals, so there was no regular schedule for them. Even in the dead of night, they were wide awake, drinking, fighting, and boasting about the people they had killed, comparing their "achievements."
The noise from their brawls perfectly covered up the faint sounds of footsteps.
Zhouzhou approached one of them, and without hesitation, her dagger slashed across his throat. Before anyone else could react, she flicked her wrist, and the knife spun out, flying through the air.
Three seconds later, everyone had a fresh cut across their necks, their eyes wide open, falling backward without even having the chance to utter a single word—who had killed them?
Zhouzhou casually tossed their bodies onto the table, making it look like they were simply asleep. She then quickly moved to the next location.
The same scene unfolded in other areas.
By the end, the smell of alcohol was completely overtaken by the stench of blood.
Eddie walked out of the lab and paused when he opened the door.
His eyes flickered slightly, and as his hand moved toward his back, a black gun barrel was suddenly pressed against his temple.
"You're quite sharp." Zhouzhou looked at him coldly.
To notice something was wrong the moment he stepped out? Impressive. No wonder he was in this line of work.
Eddie looked at her, unfazed by the gun pointed at his temple. Instead, his gaze on Zhouzhou grew even more intense, and his smile widened.
"You're Ye Lingfeng's daughter, huh? I really underestimated you." He licked his lips, excitement dancing in his eyes.
"They're all dead, aren't they?" he asked, not a trace of sadness or fear on his face. On the contrary, he smiled even more gleefully.
A psycho.
Zhouzhou furrowed her brow, her eyes filled with disdain.
Eddie didn't wait for her response; he already knew the answer. He chuckled softly, his gaze turning even more obsessive, as though he was looking at a precious treasure.
"Only someone like you is worthy of being my test subject."
Now that would be the perfect experiment.
If he injected those drugs into her blood...
His eyes slowly moved to Zhouzhou's neck, his gaze nearly turning tangible, as if imagining the drug entering her.
Zhouzhou's eyes sharpened. She tightened her grip on the gun pressed to his temple. "Are you seeking death?"
"If you keep looking at me with those eyes, I'll dig your eyeballs out!"
Instead of being scared, Eddie only smiled wider.
"Go ahead, dig them out. If you kill me, your father will turn into a monster."
"What do you mean?" At his words, Zhouzhou's expression hardened, her breath catching.
A feeling of foreboding rushed back to her.
Seeing her reaction, Eddie laughed even louder. "Just what it sounds like."
"What did you do to my father?" Zhouzhou demanded angrily.
"Guess."
Her anger surged, and just as she was about to demand an explanation, a bullet suddenly shot toward Eddie's forehead, striking him dead center.
His expression didn't even change, the mocking smile frozen on his face as he fell, blood dripping from his brow. His still body only added to the eerie atmosphere.
Zhouzhou was stunned and turned to see Ye Lingfeng standing there.
He was the one who had taken the shot.
He took a step forward, his expression calm as he glanced at her. "Since when did you become so slow with missions? Didn't you notice he was stalling for time?"
She realized.
She also realized something else—he had been silencing him.
Zhouzhou grabbed his arm in a panic. "Dad, what exactly did he do to you?"
Seeing that he couldn't hide it any longer, Ye Lingfeng sighed and nonchalantly replied, "It's nothing much. He gave me a pill."
"It hasn't taken effect yet, and I'm not sure what it does. It should be fine."
Zhouzhou immediately recalled his strange pulse earlier.
Eddie's drug? How could it be nothing?
Ye Lingfeng didn't even believe that himself.
Zhouzhou's panic escalated. "Why didn't you say anything earlier?!"
Ye Lingfeng gently ruffled her hair and smiled, his eyes full of tenderness. "What's the hurry? Once we deal with all of them, think about how much trouble we'll save. With the time we free up, I'll be able to spend more time with you."
But just as he spoke, his body suddenly swayed, and he collapsed to the ground...
