"Speak," she said coldly, fixing Chi Wuyao with an icy stare.

Chi Wuyao let out a deep sigh. She stared silently at Mu Xuanyin for a long while, her lips parting as she finally spoke, "Ten thousand years ago, when I ascended to the seat of the 'Devil Queen of the North,' I lured the two strongest God Emperors of the Eastern Divine Region, the strongest Guardian, and a Brahma God into the Northern Divine Region to probe them."

"..." Mu Xuanyin listened in silence.

"However, to my surprise, no, to everyone's surprise, a stranger suddenly barged into the war. No one had thought that a small Snow Song Realm, with its inferior beast inheritance, would actually produce a Divine Master. This was the crucial part of pacifying Mu Xuanyin. If this woman refused to forgive her, it meant that her future with Yun Wuji would be over. She had seen and experienced how much Yun Wuji loved Mu Xuanyin; it wouldn't be an exaggeration to say he'd destroy the world for her. However, Chi Wuyao still had confidence in earning her forgiveness. After all, she had been with her for over ten thousand years and knew her character well. It wasn't an exaggeration to say that no one knew her better than Chi Wuyao.

Sensing her seriousness, Mu Xuanyin suddenly had a strange feeling. She narrowed her eyes and stared intently at Chi Wuyao. However, the next moment, her eyes suddenly contracted. She already knew from Jasmine just how high the price of using that skill was, and now she realized that she had indirectly caused him to suffer! Only after a long while did she manage to compose herself, though the pain in her heart didn't diminish in the slightest. Calmly, she asked, "What is your relationship with him?"

"I love him," Chi Wuyao's reply was calm and straightforward. Then, the light in her black eyes dimmed. "However, it seems that Yun Wuji doesn't share the same feelings as I do."

A moment later, her eyes brightened again. Mu Xuanyin could swear that, for a split second, she saw her dark eyes turn into heart shapes. "Wuji agreed to give me a chance, as long as I can earn your forgiveness."

"..." Mu Xuanyin remained silent for a long time. This was too much to process all at once, even for her. Her lips twisted into a glacial smirk, the kind that made lesser cultivators' blood turn to ice. "You love him? Heh, aren't you just trying to use him to break free from the Northern Divine Region?"

Others might not know the true extent of this woman's accomplishments, but she did. The Devil Queen was, without a shred of doubt, the deadliest woman in the Primal Chaos. She had stepped on the corpses of countless pitiful men to reach the position she held today. Her ambition was as vast as the heavens themselves. Who in their right mind would believe that she had genuinely fallen in love with a man, let alone a man hundreds of times younger than her?

Chi Wuyao didn't show any anger or disappointment on her face. She had already anticipated this reaction from Mu Xuanyin. "It's indeed reasonable for you to suspect this. How can I, a woman who has always looked down on the world and scoffed at the very idea of falling in love, suddenly fall for a man, let alone one much younger than me? But..."

She slowly walked over until she was just a few steps away from Mu Xuanyin, then leaned forward until their faces were only a few inches apart. Lowering her voice to a whisper, she said, "...Aren't you the same?"
