Chapter 196: More Surprises.

Arthur simply decided to preoccupy himself with something more interesting in the meantime. But he promised to teach that man a lesson he will never forget once he gets the chance.

He was the first of his group to get in the boat. It took a short few seconds before the others came onto the boat.

But even before they reached the boat, they saw him jump to a high floor and tried to attack someone. His actions shocked them.

They were stunned, which caused them to stop and gawk in disbelief. They couldn't believe that the first thing that someone who doesn't even live in the outer court would do as soon as he got onto the ship was to attack the true children of the family. This further delayed them.

Thompson shook his head and said, "This reminds me of the first day of school. I guess Arthur doesn't change wherever he is."

On the first day that he and Arthur attended the training facility, someone had tried to bully Arthur, and Arthur had fought back. He had also joined in the fight to defend Arthur.

Later that day, Lady Vena had told him not to associate with Arthur anymore because Arthur was a bad influence. He didn't back down that day, and he wouldn't back down this day either.

As soon as he got on the ship, he stared at the people mocking Arthur and the rest of them. He looked at their faces and memorized them in preparation to find them after they got off the boat.

He wasn't the only one who did that. Some of Arthur's students did it too.

But those who dared to think of fighting the true children of a colossal family like the Dyson family for Arthur were the minority. Most of them were too scared to raise their heads, much less look at these privileged people in their faces.

While Arthur was looking around, his mother and Geltra came to find him. He was surprised to see them.

He said to Lady Vena, "I thought you said you had something better to do than to watch a bunch of kids fight for something that you could never have."

Lady Vena shrugged and said, "I lied."

He rolled his eyes. "Why am I not surprised?"

Geltra had to intervene. She smiled and explained, "Your mother wanted to surprise. She didn't mean any harm."

They chatted for a while until Thompson and the others reached them. After some introductions, Geltra led them all to a table to have breakfast.

Arthur was surprised again when he entered the large dining hall. It was because he saw Augustus, Lady Delia, and Tyson there too.

He thought to himself, "It seems a lot of people want to surprise me today."

Tyson waved him over, so he went up and sat beside his half-brother.

Tyson gave him two thumbs up and said, "Very cool."

Augustus didn't think so. He wiped the corner of his lips with a napkin and said, "Members of the family shouldn't fight each other."

Arthur didn't argue with the man. His mind was already made up about what he would do.

He was going to beat those people until they cried and asked for forgiveness and he was not going to be convinced to let the disrespect go because some man that donated sperm for his birth said that he should do so.

He also wasn't willing to convince Augustus to see his side of things because he knew that Augustus was stubborn. So he just nodded in agreement and began to eat.

He removed his gauntlets and placed them on his lap. Then he focused on the food.

But everyone who knew him knew that he didn't truly agree. He wasn't fooling anyone by pretending to agree.

Even Augustus didn't believe that he had agreed. He might have believed it a little if Arthur had argued a little before he agreed.

Despite knowing that what he had said had fallen on deaf ears, he didn't harp about it anymore. He could tell that Arthur was as stubborn as he was, so he just sighed.

The best solution he could think of was to make those people who have offended Arthur ask for forgiveness, but he knew that it wasn't going to work. So he gave up on trying.

The group of people had their breakfast and chatted for a while. Then they found a room to stay in for the rest of the trip.

The trip took a week. It took eight days to reach their destination. This was despite the airship moving in a straight line and not stopping for anything.

The distance to their destination was just too far. For most people, it would take them a month to reach it. That is if there are no delays and accidents on the road. Anything can happen that can prolong the trip.

The regional sect examination is an examination that involves five countries. The location of the exam is at the border of the five nations.

Each country has a prefecture made up of at least one large city, many towns, and countless villages. Agate City and its environs is just one of the many prefectures in the Turin kingdom. They have to cross many prefectures and travel through many large forests like the green forest before they reach their destination.

This trip has become something of a pilgrimage in the five countries. Every five years, millions of people travel across their country to participate in the sect examination or to spectate it.

The exam is free. Anyone that meets the requirements can attend. Only the barrier of distance and the threat of death in the exam are the reasons why only 10 million people make the trip to the venue of the examination.

Usually, about 5 million people will come to participate in the sect examination. These people were the young, bright, and talented portion of the population. Even if they don't pass the examination, as long as they survive, their lives will change.
