Chapter 103: Army Assembles, Building a City

Chapter 103: Chapter 103: Army Assembles, Building a City

Johnnie easily made his way to the city governor’s residence.

The guards at the city governor’s residence recognized him and immediately went to report to the city.

"Master!" Vivian happily ran up to him. She hadn’t seen Johnnie for a long time and missed him a lot.

Johnnie smiled and nodded, then asked, "Vivian, how many subordinates do you have now?"

"Five thousand soldiers, all of them Stage 2, level 10 elites." Vivian said with some pride.

"So many?" Johnnie was a bit surprised. A Level 1 city usually only had 3,000 soldiers.

"Master, are you planning to attack Blazefire City?" Wei Wei An asked, she already knew Johnnie’s plan, and these soldiers were all prepared for him.

"No." Johnnie shook his head. "I plan to build a city at the ruins of Novice Village No. 433."

"Novice Village No. 433?" Vivian was a bit surprised, frowning. "Master, Novice Village No. 433 is on the edge of the Dark Forest. Now that the Dark Forest is open, the monsters inside will interfere with your city-building. My people won’t be able to handle it."

She knew the power of the Dark Forest monsters. The weakest ones were at least Stage 3, and her soldiers couldn’t possibly stand up to them.

"Don’t worry. The Dark Forest has only one entrance. I’ll handle the monsters coming from that direction. You just need to cooperate with the players and protect against monster attacks from other city directions." Johnnie was confident. With his current power, and the passive stacking of the Great Transformation Sword Technique, he could easily block all the monsters from the Dark Forest.

Most importantly, the Dark Forest only has one path connecting it. Whether it’s monsters or players, they can only enter or exit through this path. One person is more than enough to block it.

"If that’s the case, then it’s fine." Vivian asked, "Master, when are you going to build the city?"

"As soon as possible." Johnnie had already sent Dylan and Finn into the ruins of Novice Village No. 433. When the soldiers from Solaris City arrived, we could start building the city."

"Okay. Master, I’ll lead the soldiers right away." Vivian immediately gave the order, ordering all her soldiers to gather.

Johnnie didn’t linger. He activated the Solaris City Teleportation Array and arrived back in Sky Blue City.

There were still soldiers from Sky Blue City attacking him.

Johnnie looked down on them, easily slaughtered his way out, and headed straight for the ruins of Novice Village No. 433.

At this moment, a large number of players had already gathered here.

Some were exploring the Dark Forest, and others were from The Second Front and the Yett Family’s heirs.

Johnnie entered the ruins of the Novice Village and found Dylan and Finn.

Though they had just met, they had a great conversation.

"Johnnie, aren’t we going to take over Blazefire City?" Dylan approached Johnnie immediately upon seeing him, asking.

He had been planning the attack on Blazefire City for a while.

Johnnie said, "This Dark Forest is more important. Plus, I got a City Establishment Order, which allows me to build a city directly. Dylan, how many people did you bring?"

Building a city directly is much easier than taking over Blazefire City.

Dylan was happy and quickly said, "Three thousand soldiers have already arrived, and seven thousand are on the way. In less than half an hour, everyone will be here."

"So many?" Johnnie was surprised. He thought Dylan would bring only ten thousand soldiers, like last time, but this time it was a hundred thousand.

This was probably all of The Second Front’s forces.

He asked, "Dylan, who is in charge this time?"

With so many soldiers, it wouldn’t make sense for Dylan to be in charge.

Dylan said, "The Deputy Commander of The Second Front, Liam!"

Liam?

Johnnie had heard of him. He was known for his strange tactics, and his reputation was second only to The Second Front’s overall commander, Noah.

Liam coming in person meant The Second Front was taking this city-building very seriously.

"With Liam in charge, this operation will be a success." Johnnie’s confidence grew.

He continued, "Dylan, clear the area. There can’t be any other players here."

"Okay!" Dylan understood the importance of this operation. He immediately spent three thousand gold coins and, using his player account, issued three announcements.

[Player Dylan issued a system announcement: "There is a military operation of The Second Front at the ruins of Novice Village No. 433. Unrelated players, please leave immediately. Clearing will happen in five minutes."]

[Player Dylan issued a system announcement: "There is a military operation of The Second Front at the ruins of Novice Village No. 433. Unrelated players, please leave immediately. Clearing will happen in five minutes."]

Three system announcement sounds echoed, and the chat channel exploded again.

"The Second Front military operation? Is the military trying to explore the Dark Forest?"

"Unfair, this is a public map. Players also have the right to explore."

"The Dark Forest is big. We won’t interfere with the military’s operation."

"Never mind, the military is here. AsSky Guild players, you should leave."

"We won’t mess around. Stormflow Guild players, leave Novice Village No. 433."

...

The chat channel was full of discussions. Many guilds voluntarily gave up exploring the Dark Forest, but they didn’t leave. They stayed on the outskirts of the Novice Village to watch the military’s actions.

Of course, there were still a few players who were too stupid to leave.

As soon as five minutes were up, the soldiers moved in and started killing the players who refused to leave.

Cries of pain and angry curses echoed, but the players were no match for the soldiers.

Even if there were some Stage 3 players, against trained soldiers, they had no chance. The area around the Novice Village was quickly cleared.

The soldiers blocked off the area and banned all players from approaching.

Johnnie and the others were drawing a map of the surrounding area, discussing where exactly to build the city.

"Johnnie, how about here? It can block the passage to the Dark Forest." Dylan pointed to a spot near the ruins of the Novice Village and asked.

Johnnie shook his head. "No need to be that close. Once the city is built, we can just send a group of soldiers to block the Dark Forest."

He looked at the map in front of him, slid his finger closer to Sky Blue City, and finally stopped at a central location, saying, "Here. Not only can it block the Dark Forest, but it can also spread its influence to Sky Blue City. Once we take over Sky Blue City, and build another city, we can create a nation!"

"Good, then we’ll choose this place." Dylan looked at the map. The location Johnnie had chosen was more exposed, but the coverage was wider, which was better for future development.

Johnnie asked, "Do we need to report this to the higher-ups?"

Dylan shook his head. "No. They’ve already given you full authority. You make the decision. We just handle the military operations."

The military had a lot of trust in Johnnie.

"Sir!" A soldier ran in, saluted, and said, "A city guard unit has arrived. They say they’re from Solaris City. They’re your subordinate."

It must be Vivian.

Johnnie said, "They’re mine. Let them in."

Dylan nodded and gave the signal.

The man looked at Johnnie, saluted, and then respectfully left.

He didn’t have much authority in the military, so clearly these soldiers wouldn’t follow his orders.

Johnnie didn’t care at all.

The group continued their discussion.

"Finn. Are all the Yett Family’s heirs here?" Johnnie asked Finn.

"Yeah, they’re all here. Three hundred or so, but their strength still lags behind the military." Finn said, a bit frustrated.

The Yett Family had entered the game too late. They had just changed class to Sword Immortal, and their power was strong, but their level wasn’t high.

"That’s enough." Johnnie thought for a moment, then laid out the plan: "The Yett Family’s heirs will assist the soldiers from Solaris City and defend the eastern part of the city. Dylan, your people will hold the western and southern parts. I suspect there might be soldiers from other cities trying to interfere. You’ll have a heavier burden."

"No problem." Dylan said confidently. "Small-scale conflicts, we might not be a match for them, but in large-scale battles, these local troops are way too weak!"

"Johnnie, what about the north? The north is the most dangerous, right?" Finn asked, confused.

The north was the Dark Forest. The monsters there were much stronger than those city guards.

Johnnie said, "I’ll handle the north."

"You? Alone?" Finn asked in surprise. He looked at the deployment and didn’t see any other reinforcements.

Dylan said, "Finn, you’ve never seen Johnnie’s power. When the Beast Wave attacked Solaris City, Johnnie and his brother held back the entire wave alone."

"Really?" Finn was surprised, but still felt it was too exaggerated.

Johnnie smiled and didn’t say much, then said, "Let’s deploy the troops. Once Liam and the others arrive, we’ll build the city."

"Okay." The group didn’t say anything else and immediately went to make the arrangements.

Soldiers moved out again, and many players gathered around, drawn in by the system announcements just now.

They saw the soldiers moving outward and quickly backed away, afraid these people would attack again.

Just a short while ago, there had been a lot of players who had dared to provoke the military. Thousands were wiped out in an instant, and not a single soldier had been hurt.

This kind of terrifying coordination and combat ability left the heads of several major guilds in awe, and they were too afraid to do anything.

"What exactly is the military trying to do? They haven’t even entered the Dark Forest, have they?" One person asked, seeing that the soldiers only blocked the area and didn’t take any other action.

Others were also confused, not understanding what was going on.

Boom...

At this moment, the ground slightly trembled. From the direction of Sky Blue City, dust rose into the air. A large army appeared.

"Are these soldiers from Sky Blue City?" One person asked.

"No, they’re players. Probably still part of the military!" Someone saw the soldiers’ equipment and was surprised.

"This must be at least ten thousand soldiers. Is the military trying to wipe out the Dark Forest?"

"Unlikely. The soldiers are strong, but their level is too low. I’ve entered the Dark Forest before. The weakest monsters there are at least Stage 3, and I was killed instantly. You can’t just push your way through them with numbers."

"But the force is so huge. What exactly is the military planning?"

Players were discussing among themselves, completely lost.

[Announcement: Player Johnnie has established a city called The Chinese City; 10 minutes later, Beast Wave will attack. Stop the Beast Wave, and the city will be successfully built.]
