Chapter 36: 'Bang!'

Chapter 36 - "Bang!"

Kazuki stood upright, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth

The elves recoiled from the blast, gather around like fanatics. Arms raised as they chanted. "MOROO SDOOOO! MOROO SDOOOO!"

Kazuki spat to the side, wiping his mouth with the back of his sleeve.

"Yeah, yeah. Shout it louder, maybe it'll summon customer service."

Raksha stomped forward, bone axe now retrieved, each step sent tremors through the forest floor.

Other elves move around him into a tight formation.

Two with razor-edged leaves, their eyes fixed on his movements with intensity.

Behind Raksha, a third elf crouched low, bark-carved blowgun clenched in his mouth like a sniper waiting for the perfect shot.

Kazuki exhaled slowly.

"Triple team plus ogre... definitely not fair," he muttered. "...Good."

Air around his hand shimmered. Light bent and warped, and with a subtle flicker—a translucent dagger materialized in his hands.

[Hydra's Fang Dagger]

One of the razor-edged leaves elves made his move first, flinging the sharp leaf-blades. They cut through the air with zing!.

Kazuki sidestepped it.

The blade leaves missing him by a arm.

But the second elf was already flanking him.

With a hiss, he aim at his back.

[Skill: Feathered Footwork (D)] Reactivated.

Kazuki bent backwards. the second snipe narrowly missing.

The leaves cut through air, just a half an inch away from his nose

Raksha charged, his dark shadows fell upon Kazuki, the massive bone axe bore down like a charging rhino.

Kazuki eyes flickered.

The axe was upon him—seconds away from turning him into chicken paste. And he was standing in an awkward position from dodging the leaves.

Instead of panicking. Kazuki smirked internally.

Perfect.

[Skill: Brute Strength: [Grade: E] Activated.]

With a grunt, Kazuki twisted his entire body, muscles straining under sudden torque.

He threw himself sideways—not away, but into Raksha's legs.

Sliding underneath the giant he left a parting gift.

[Skill: Egg Bomb (C) Activated.]

The small glowing orb, no bigger than a marble, stuck to the underside of Raksha's thigh like gum.

Kazuki rolled out the other side, popped up to his feet, and sprinted for the front.

Raksha snarled, twisting his body to swing around—then paused.

Tick. Tick. Tick.

BOOM!

The blast covered the Raksha, detonating with a bone-jarring pop and a blast of bright yellow smoke that threw the giant off balance. His right leg gave way, forcing him to drop to one knee.

Kazuki didn't stop, he moved for the crouched elf.

The elf's eyes widened—pure panic. He hadn't expected Kazuki to charge straight through the chaos.

Too late.

Kazuki was already upon him.

CRACK!

A savage roundhouse kick sent the blowgun flying from the elf's mouth. The second hit—a straight jab—landed flush on his chin, lifting him off the ground.

He didn't even scream before collapsing like a puppet with its strings cut.

[Target neutralized.]

Kazuki didn't linger.

He pivoted on his heel, dagger raised just in time to parry the incoming swipe from one of the leaf-blade elves.

CLANG! SHHHK!

Behind him, the Raksha let out a thunderous bellow, a mix of pain and fury.

RAAAAAUUUGHHH!!

Raksha surged forward on one knee, using his good leg to propel himself like a freight train. His bone axe cleaved sideways.

Kazuki barely ducked in time—the wind from the swing lifted his hair.

"Too Close." he muttered, dropping into a low stance.

Taking advantage of close gap, he slashed at the Raksha with the dagger. Raksha in return didn't bother dodging instead punched.

The blade bit deep into Raksha's side—but Raksha didn't flinch.

Instead, a massive fist came swinging in.

WHUMP!

It connected.

Kazuki's world tilted violently, he was flung back, crashing and tumbling across the forest floor.

His ribs screamed. His vision blurred.

[Warning: Critical Hit.]

Above the ringing in his ears, he could hear the elves again.

"MOROO SDOOOO! MOROO SDOOOO!"

It was getting louder.

The Raksha roared, as if his win is inevitable.

Kazuki groaned, rolling onto his side.

His fingers dug into the dirt, and he coughed again—more blood, this time.

Then an eerie cluck echoed.

Once.

Twice.

Raksha roared stopped and he looked around, trying to find the source...So did the elf's.

Kazuki coughed, attracting their attention. He pointed down beside Raksha.

There sat a innocent chicken clucking.

Cluck. Cluck. Cluck. Its head twitched sideways with each sound,

[Skill: Exploding Chicken Summon: (D)]

Raksha stared at the chicken.

The elves stared at the chicken.

The chicken stared at everyone.

Cluck.Cluck.CLUCK.

Its head did that weird jerky twitch again. Then a yellow color shifted from the down and swelled up to his head. Rapidly

Raksha's eyes widened. He tried to move—

But—

[Affected by Hydras poison]

[Status: Paralyzed]

His muscles locked mid-motion.

The elves flinched. The chicken twitched again.

A smirk settled on Kazuki's face.

He lifted his hand and pointed a finger at Raksha.

And then—

"Bang!"

The chicken clucked.

BOOOOOM!

The forest lit up with a burst of yellow fire and feathers.

A shockwave rippled outward. Leaves rustled. Birds exploded from the trees. The nearest elf was flung back with a shriek, legs flailing mid-air.

When the dust settled...

Raksha's massive form lay slumped in a smoking crater, twitching slightly. His axe had embedded itself in a tree several meters away.

The chicken?

Gone.

Only a single, perfectly intact feather floated down like a white flag of surrender.

Kazuki exhaled, wiping more blood from his chin.

"Good chicken," he muttered.

The remaining two elves stared at him.

Then at Raksha's remains.

Then back at Kazuki.

Their mouths opened. No words came out.

Behind him the gasp and stumbling sounded.

Elf elder lay on the ground disbelief in his eyes. His fingers scraped against the earth. Ceremonial staff rolled a few inches away, abandoned.

His wrinkled mouth opened and closed, but no sound emerged.

He stood up and dragged his feet, elder stumbled back crawling back.

"Mo-Monster..." he rasped, crawling backward as if Kazuki might explode next.

Kazuki stepped forward, his shadow falling over the elder's trembling face.He crouched slightly, blood still on his lips.

Then he smiled.

"Give me all your treasure."
