Munni finally realized that Zeng Peijing completely didn’t want to do business with her. Could it be because she’s afraid of attracting Xu Yisen?

Thinking of this, Munni didn’t feel like staying any longer, made some excuse, and bade farewell to Zeng Peijing.

After strolling around and having dinner, Munni drove back.

When she stepped out of the elevator with her shopping bags, she unexpectedly saw, at her front door, a big and a small figure and a heap of random stuff.

She walked closer in surprise and looked up at Yisen in confusion, asking, "What are you doing?"

Saying that, she extended her index finger, pointing at the tiny golden retriever, probably only two months old, Yisen was holding.

"Jiuchen said you wanted a pet, so he found a golden retriever for you. I happened to be free and brought it over."

Munni’s lip corner twitched slightly as she glanced at the delicately crafted dog house and bags of dog food and toys beside the golden retriever.

After a while, she looked up and slowly asked again, "You guys... are joking with me, right?"

Liang Jiuchen actually... really sent her a golden retriever!

But she had never had a pet, and she’s so careless—what if she didn’t take good care of the puppy and something happened?

"No."

Munni quickly shook her head, firmly saying, "Send it back, I can’t take care of it."

Yisen didn’t immediately answer her. He bent down, gently picked up the little one on the floor, and patted its head softly, negotiating with Munni, "Try to take care of it for a month. If it doesn’t work out, then let Jiuchen take it back."

Munni lowered her head, staring at the small creature in Yisen’s arms, which was timidly gazing back at her.

In its bright, dark eyes, she saw her own curious yet slightly moved look reflected.

She found herself unable to refuse. After a moment, she looked up and reluctantly agreed, "Alright then."

Yisen smiled slightly, and Munni walked over to his side, turned away from him, and input the password on the lock, then turned the handle to open the door.

Munni decided to set up the golden retriever’s room in a guest room diagonally opposite her bedroom. The two of them took a while moving the dog bed, dog food, and toys to the upstairs guest room.

After placing everything, Munni looked around the simply yet elegantly decorated room and muttered to herself, "Looks like I need to have the room redesigned. There are too many pieces of furniture, not suitable for the puppy to walk around."

Yisen glanced amusedly at Munni’s little self-mumbling and was sure that she wouldn’t send the little one away after a month.

"Yeah, it’s possible. Oh, did you look at the documents I gave you this morning? Any favored designers?"

"Not yet, I’ll look at them later."

Munni shook her head in response to Yisen’s question, then checked the time on her wrist and asked, "It’s late now, and I’ve received the puppy, so thank you for coming over. You should head back early and get some rest."

Yisen didn’t respond directly. He followed Munni out of the guest room, naturally changing the subject as if he hadn’t heard her subtle request for him to leave.

"How was your meeting with Zeng Peijing at noon?"

It was fine until he mentioned it—when he did, Munni inexplicably got annoyed.

She glanced sideways at Yisen in an unfriendly manner and said, "You know her?"

"I’ve heard of her."

Munni nodded silently, thinking that maybe she was overthinking it; someone like Yisen wouldn’t need any special services, so how could he possibly know Zeng Peijing?
