Chapter 167: Battle between guilds.

"What do you mean no?" Dark death asked her.

Alix had a secret weapon, a fifteen million yuan teleportation scroll. "We grab her and I will use a teleportation scroll to get us out of there immediately. The loot is not what's important for this task, the map is."

Dark death wiggled around and raised her head in order to speak to Alix.

"Stop moving or I will drop you." Hero threatened her.

The assasin stopped moving but she made sure that she could see Alix's face. Another round of envy hit the assasin because Alix had all the best luck. First the flying beast, then the dragon and now a teleportation scroll.

"How did you manage that? Which task did you carry out for the reward and was it a one time task or can it be replicated?" she asked.

Alix's heart skipped a beat and she slapped he mouth in the real world. She had blabbed a little more than necessary.

Without missing a beat, she answered, "I killed so many monsters on my own in the past so I don't know what items came from where. I still have loot I haven't looked through. Have you ever got a lucky rabbit's foot?"

"No." Dark death answered.

"Well I have." She told her, in a braggart sort of voice.

There were many areas in the two open worlds that neither one of them had been too. They had all fought monsters or taken on tasks which the other didn't. There were bound to be many loots which others didn't get. Her answer sealed that question forever.

On the virtual screen, the blue elf wiped away non existent sweat and white smoke escaped from its mouth as it exhaled.

"Pheewks! Nice save." It told her.

She smirked. "And you said my intelligence is poor. Ha! the joke is on you."

She was proud of how quickly she had come up with that answer.

"Hey, I would be happy to look through your loot for you." Dark death said to Alix.

"Ha!" Alix let out a small laugh.

The paladin that was flying them also laughed at the assasin. The silly assasin seemed to have forgotten that they were all competitors. At the moment, they were allied because they had a common interest but in some worlds, they would be on their own. They might even be enemies at some point. Had the assassins' brain turned into mash?

"Stupid." she mumbled.

Something flew past them at the speed of lightning. It was so fast that they almost missed it. It was a large bird with large black and grey wings. They couldn't see it's face but it's long tail and sharp large scaly claws could not be missed.

"What kind of bastard is that?" Alix asked through gritted teeth.

That missing city lord's daughter was hers to capture. No other player was winning if not the Badass guild. She felt this competitive urge and anger rise within her. It was even worsened when she noticed the ones who sat on the back of the eagle.

It was more than one person but all she could see that elf that she hated so much. She glared at him and he did the same to her, glowering as if she owed him. And then, he did something which ticked Alix off even more, he smirked.

Alix felt the smirk so intensely as if it was physical pain. It was was worse to her than the arrow he had once killed her with.

"You are dead today you ass!!! I am gonna kill you." She yelled and she clenched her teeth.

"Hero, you have four wings, that bird has two. Catch up to those bastards now." She yelled.

On the virtual screen, the blue elf danced for joy. The rivalry between Alix and the elf was one of the biggest highness of the game.

As a matter of fact, she was catching up to the elf in terms of regular viewers and fans. Some of them were wishing to witness an all out battle between her and the elf.

"Yeah, catch up." Dark death supplemented. This reward for this task was going to the one who was quickest. Who knew if others also also had a teleportation scroll and a similar plan to Scarlet?

Before Hero could do anything, the bird screeched loudly and dove down suddenly. As it dove, the elf started shooting arrows. If Alix had not been watching keenly, she would have missed the sudden attack.

Hero used two of her wings to deflect the arrows while Alix put a flute to her lips. Just as she had guessed, this was going to be a war between guilds.

These idiots had not even waited to get to the lair of the bandits before attacking.

"I am hit." Dark death shouted.

The elf had shot three arrows at once, not just one.

Alix lowered the flute and told her, "Drink a healing potion." Then, she raised her head and told Hero, drop me, now."

"What?" Hero asked.

The paladin rolled around in the air as she muttered a spell which threw out a ball of while light from the staff around her waist.

They were not being targeted by arrows only now, different players from far and near where randomly throwing out weapons and spells. The NPCs like birds in the air that were innocently flying by were the biggest victims. She had been right in her assumption that the guilds would battle it out but she didn't imagine that they would start so soon.

The way things were escalating, when they did get to the bandits fortress, the city lord's daughter might get caught in the cross fire.

Dark death was throwing out daggers attached to an iron chain around her hand. Alix saw the dagger clash with a hammer and then stab a dwarf.

"Got one." she said with joy.

"Drop me, now, and her too." Alix shouted.

"Don't drop me." Dark death shouted.

"Baize will catch us." Alix said.

The whole time when they had been flying, her own flying beast was following them, flying below them and closer to the ground.

As soon as she said that, Hero released the them and they fell through the air screaming at the top of their lungs. Baize swopped in and Alix landed safely on his back. Dark death on the other hand was caught in his claws.

It dangled her like prey caught in the claws of an eagle which angered the assasin. It was easy to see that the bird was still nursing a grudge against her.

"You dumb bird!" she muttered.

"Baize, not now." Alix added.

They were in the middle of a battle, now was not the time to be acting with an attitude.

Baize threw Dark death in the air and Alix grabbed her hand and swung her onto the back of the bird. Immediately, the assasin turned around and faced the direction they were coming from.

"Take the ones in front and I will take the ones at the back." she said.
