Chapter 33: No to delivering undergarments.

It had been a long time since Mei Mei got this look from someone. The look in the young woman’s eyes was positive surprise not horror at how much she had changed like it had been in the last five years.

"You are from the Jun family, you are Lady Chi’s daughter. No...you are professor Jun Muyang’s daughter...no, you are the imperial commander Jun Mingzhe’s twin sister." She screamed, a high pitched scream that could have shattered all the windows of the office if it was possible. "I love the imperial commander, he is so handsome and strong and..." freewebnσvel.cѳm

Mei Mei rolled her eyes at that part, her twin brothers charm had struck again. The number of women in the nation in love with Mengzhi could fill two skyscrapers, each with thirty floors at least or more.

"Can I..." the young woman started but Mei Mei stopped her before she could any request one.

"These are my rules when it comes to my brother, No, I do not give out his personal phone number. No, I do not deliver love letters or gifts to him. No, I cannot take you to my family house to meet him. No, I will not deliver your underwear to him..."

Jingzhe chuckled at that one and Mei Mei shrugged. "That request is made more often than you think." She turned back to the young woman and said, "If you don’t mind I would rather deal with the business which brought me here."

The young woman nodded, hoping to cover up her embarrassment because while she was not going to ask for underwear to be delivered, she was going to ask for her phone number to be given to Jun Mengzhi.

"I apologize for my less than professional behavior." she said.

Mei Mei nodded but waved the apology away. "It is no trouble, I run into such situations more often than you would imagine. Thank you for err....loving and appreciating my brother."

"He is wonderful.." The young woman’s eyes turned dreamy again.

Mei Mei rolled her eyes once again and provided the e-contract which she had just signed. "I just bought one thousand two hundred acres of land here in The Hollow and I plan to use them as..."

"You bought land here!!" The young woman exclaimed. "You know that this is The Hollow, right?"

Mei Mei nodded, "I am aware."

The look of dismay on the young woman’s face did not fade, it just quadrupled. "Why would you such a thing? This place is hopeless, it is the hell of the capital. It has been voted as the worst place in the empire to live. Even the dogs that lived here migrated to better districts, they would rather rather roam on the streets elsewhere than live in a house here. Look around if you don’t believe me, there are no dogs in The Hollow."

"Its a good thing that I am not looking to adopt a dog from here then." Mei Mei laughed.

The young woman stood up and leaned towards Mei Mei, over her desk. "When was your last doctor’s appointment? I want to see documentation that you are in good health and your brain is working because you sound insane."

Mei Mei did not take offense to the words, she showed the woman the results of her last medical exam which was as recent as the day before. "Now that you are satisfied about my mental health, can we get on with official business?"

The young woman shook her head and sighed. She registered a new land title in Mei Mei’s name and the name of the business which was being opened; Pearl space camp. Mingzhu’s name meant pearl and she chose to name the camp after her daughter.

As she made the necessary payments, the young woman kept shaking her head in disbelief.

Mei Mei had other things that she wanted the government office to help her handle. "I want to have the buildings cleaned and renovated. As for the empty land I want it to be cleared. I want a fence around all of the land and ten employees at least for the start."

At a fee, they could handle the task much more efficiently than random workers who looked down on The Hollow.

"Do you need space materials to be included in the renovations?" The young woman asked.

Mei Mei twisted her lips from side to side before shaking her head. The financial expense was not affordable.

"Yes we do." Jingzhe chimed in. "But, we can provide the materials personally, you don’t need to include that in the bill."

The young woman was half way to being surprised when she recalled that she was dealing with Jun Meilin. If anyone had access to space materials used in building, it was her. Her family practically owned the entire cold town and Pindanshan town. In both towns, ninety percent of the buildings were built with space materials.

Those towns were now known as Interstellar towns because they were technologically ahead of other places by miles.

"If you have any specific changes that you would like, you can reach out to me via email or give me a call." The young woman handed Mei Mei a business card. "Your bill for the renovations will be sent tomorrow by an accountant for the district. If you find the expenses too great, certain adjustments can be made to lower it. This must be done before renovations begin. First priority for employment will be given to citizens of The Hollow."

That law, Mei Mei was familiar with. The laws of employment had been changed in the last ten years, in every district, first priority when it came to employment had to be the citizens of that district, town or city. Allowances were made in the case of specialists or power positions and transfers.

All the official matters were settled and then they left. As soon as their backs disappeared out of the office, the young woman called the head office. She needed to report the fact that a big land purchase had been made by none other than Jun Meilin.

At the head office for national development and reform commission, more phone calls were made and they reached all the way to the office of the prime minister Chi Rui.

In turn, he called his sister Chi Lian and asked her why Mei Mei was buying land in The Hollow. Chi Lian could not ask Mei Mei so she asked T4, her system.

T4 asked C4, Mei Mei’s system and then he gave Chi Lian the answer.

"She is opening up her own space camp, it looks like her intention is to eventually own her own space themed amusement park. All that junk you acquired from the virtual mall from other worlds is going to finally find a place on earth."

Two and a half decades ago, after Muyang noticed that she was providing too much new advanced technology, he told her to stop. The world could not keep up with it and there were too many eyes on them because every new invention seemed to be tied to them. Not only had it inspired jealousy from many people and other nations, it had also put them in danger many times as different parties sought to discover the source of the technology.

Chi Lian smiled like a proud mom. "Look at that, my baby is finally putting her brains work. I think I still own land in that place, when Mei Mei’s amusement park takes off, I will open a hotel for Mingzhu around there." She rubbed her chin, thinking of other ways to support her daughter and granddaughter in the dark.
