Chapter 32: Hungry again

Chapter 32: Hungry again

Far deeper in the orc area, nestled among blackened trees and towering rocks, sat a throne made of stone and beast skulls.

On it slouched a massive orc, and even though it was still seated, it was already many times taller then the average man.

Its body was a grotesque sculpture of muscles upon muscles, each bulge twice larger than a grown man’s torso.

Jagged tusks curved upward from its lower jaw, and thick black-red tattoos lined its veiny arms.

Dozens of bones, broken limbs, and hollowed-out skulls lay scattered around the throne’s base like discarded toys.

Two gigantic orcs flanked him on either side.

Each was armored in thick, rust-covered black plate mail, and stood over three feet tall, their expressions grim and unmoving.

Both had colossal twin blades sheathed at their sides—almost as long as Riley’s entire body.

The hulking orc king leaned back lazily in his crude throne.

Then—

He yawned.

A deep, rumbling sound that shook the bones littering the chamber.

His fingers tapped along the skull-lined armrest with a low clack clack clack.

One of the armored guards beside him twitched, then stepped forward.

It leaned close and bowed low, murmuring something in a guttural tongue into the king’s ear.

The moment the words reached him—

The orc king’s eyes lit up.

Then—

"HAH!"

A deep, booming laughter burst from his throat, echoing through the halls of stone and bone.

But it wasn’t just amusement.

A dark, flicker of rage burned in the corners of his eyes.

The skull-arm of the throne creaked loudly as his massive grip tightened, cracks webbing out across the surface.

Dust and bone fragments tumbled to the floor.

Then, in a low, growling tone, he muttered—

"Huuman..."

His lips peeled back in a snarl, revealing sharp, yellowed fangs.

His eyes glinted, and the two orcs beside it subconsciously shrunk back.

*

Riley exhaled a long, slow sigh, licking the last streak of blood off his lips.

The metallic taste lingered on his tongue, but for some reason, it was strangely sweet.

Around him, the clearing was eerily still, the remains of the red orc warriors already devoured by Riley.

Not even a shred of bone or flesh was left, all resting within his stomach.

Riley stood alone amid the silent trees, letting out another low exhale.

His gaze drifted to the couple of notifications floating in front of him, and the edges of his lips curled up slightly.

The smirk that had been tugging at the edge of Riley’s mouth widened into something wilder.

He clenched his fists, his knuckles cracking with a pop as strength surged through his limbs.

He could feel it... raw power flowing through his veins like magma.

The density of his muscles, the weight in each step, the coiled spring of motion ready to explode with every twitch—it was intoxicating.

"There’s no one in this game who could stop me now," he muttered under his breath, letting out a light chuckle.

’Status window.’ He thought, and his status immediately appeared before him.

Riley’s eyes gleamed, drinking in the numbers—his numbers.

His attributes had more than doubled in under an hour!

That was nothing short of insane, and he doubted anyone would believe if he told them he only started playing a few hours.

His physical strength and magic power had now surpassed even the beta players. His agility was nearing inhuman, and his endurance? He could probably take an arrow to the gut and walk it off.

"Hell yeah..." he muttered.

His gaze dropped lower on the interface—down to the skills section—and a short chuckle escaped his throat when he spotted the newest addition.

A D-rank skill, his highest ranked skill at the moment.

Though the amount of boost it provided to strength was only twenty percent, he could always reactivate it and stack up the effect.

That was what made it truly terrifying... both for his opponent, and him.

’Reduced physical resistance... I’ll have to avoid stacking it up to three then.’ he thought, making a mental note.

The amount of power it brought might be much, but he doubted it was worth it sacrificing his health and physical resistance.

Nonetheless, his power had already increased a lot compared to when he first got here, and he was just starting.

Grrr!

His stomach suddenly growled loudly, and his face cringed in annoyance.

’Ugh... hungry again.’ He thought, shaking his head.
