Chapter 80: Katty

Chapter 80: Katty

"So, what are you going to do now?"

Lito was sitting in a room, her head resting on the edge of her chair, her purple eyes glinting like a gem.

The room was richly furnished and warm.

Standing in front of her were her subordinates, their hands clasped behind their backs. Those subordinates wore black clothes and swords hung by their sides.

Lito turned to the person that spoke beside her.

There were three more people sitting in chairs beside her. Two men and a woman.

It was the man that spoke. "We should focus on another project. There are different ways we can...."

Lito’s eyes flashed and she waved her hand at the other subordinates standing. They bowed and left the room. "That bastard boy, I’m going to kill him!"

"Zigi failed to kill him," one of the women said. She was a small woman curled around a big stuffed animal on the chair.

Lito hissed.

She thought she would finally get her hands on Severin Reignhart by sending the murderer. But instead, Zigi got himself captured. She was only glad that Zigi was one of her weaker subordinates.

The other woman in the room did not say anything. Beside her chair was a naked sword, and her hand was resting casually on it.

The three of them were Lito’s subordinates, her direct subordinates and what formed her core power as an Executive in the Scar organization.

There was a clear hierarchy in the Scar.

The leader, the executive, and everyone else.

At the moment, since the organization isn’t that big yet, every executive has to form their own squad in the organization. Every member in the organization belongs to one executive or another.

And there are only six executives at the moment.

Lito rose to the position because of her power and the fact that she was part of the original founders that departed from the main organization.

And she has a problem.

Unlike the others, she’s a full-blown Etherion user and so are most of the people under her, which has continued to cause friction among them.

The organization has started to treat them like outsiders since they don’t use OPT Core.

That was why the fact that Severin was messing with her in the Academy was a very big problem for her.

It was, after all, a job that was dedicated to her and her team only.

And everything was going on before that bastard showed up.

"Katty, I’m at the edge of sending you to deal with him once and for all."

The man shook his head. "I won’t suggest that. The fact that he’s the center of all of this simply means that the Academy will be watching him as well."

"Then what do you suggest?"

"Let’s leave him be. He won’t always be in the Academy, and besides, we can always deal with the Academy with a different approach."

Lito nodded slowly, her eyes turning calm. "The leader won’t be happy with all of this."

"On the contrary. Although we failed the overall mission, we were still able to fulfill one important goal, which was to spread the name of our organization. Now people are starting to know and fear us."

Lito frowned. "You have a point. But still, they will use this against me and I don’t even have the power to challenge them because they are right. I failed. Almost all the contact in the Academy has been destroyed! And we even have to seek a little help from the executive there."

The man shrugged. "There’s nothing that can be done. I suggest you look for more powerful or useful subordinates to grow your power."

Lito sighed. "I can’t wait for this meeting to be over so that I can start that. I have my eyes on some people...!!"

Suddenly, without warning, they heard a sound that sounded like large stones hitting the ground. The building shook and then screams of pain rose up below them.

They were in a seven-story building, cut into different wings for the executives.

Lito leaped to her feet immediately. "Impossible! We are under attack?"

She didn’t have time to think about anything else as a large shadow fell against her window. The shaking had stopped and the screaming as well, but something that seemed to be a large tree was casting a huge shadow behind her window.

And, when did it start getting cold?

She turned, went to the window, and ripped the curtain away.

Indeed, there was a large pillar of black ice growing behind her window and atop it was a woman who wore a white robe, her face covered, and she held a bell in her hand.

Lito cursed in surprise. "The Kareth? The Kareth are here? What the fuck is going on right now?"

Her subordinates leaped to their feet.

"How did they know we are here? Shit. But still, we’ll just beat them. The leader is here so we won’t have to worry about anything," Katty said.

The man shook his head, his hand trembling. "Did you see that woman? She’s holding a bell. That’s the highest-grade artifact of the Kareth family. The pillar created now means that this place is now under the cold law."

"Cold law?"

"It means we can’t teleport out of this place and the temperature will just continue to drop until everything here freezes."

Katty still didn’t feel fazed. She shrugged. "Then we will just have to fight our way out."

"You fool," Lito hissed. "This means that the Family Head of the Kareth is here and so will their elite warriors. We have to get out of here."

Lito is in the Ascendant stage, the fourth stage of advancement, while her subordinates are in the Refined, the third. Although they were by no means average Etherion users in their stages, it was best to retreat until they knew what was going on.

"Get ready. I might not be able to teleport out of the territory directly, but we can still get to the edge of the territory and then fight our way over from there."

She snapped her fingers and a purple portal appeared.

They turned towards it.

But it was then that the attacks began.
